About this treatment
A moment just for you and your baby
Pregnancy brings so much joy — and so much change. Your body is working incredibly hard, and it’s not always easy to find a moment of true stillness. That’s exactly what I’m here for. In my practice, I create a warm, safe space where you can fully let go, knowing that you and your baby are in good hands.
I am certified in Prenatal Touch Massage® and work exclusively with gentle, relaxing techniques — never therapeutic pressure or stimulating acupressure points. Every touch is intentional, soft, and adapted to where you are in your pregnancy. I use only pregnancy-safe oils such as lavender or mandarin, and I position you comfortably on your side with warm water cushions so you feel completely supported throughout the session.
Whether you’re in your second or third trimester and carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders — or simply craving a moment of peace — this massage is a gift to yourself that your body will thank you for. I always take time before and after the session to check in with you, so the experience feels personal, safe, and completely tailored to you.

What happens during your Pregnancy Massage?
You’ll be welcomed into a calm, comfortable space and we’ll have a short intake conversation before we begin. I’ll ask how you’re feeling, how far along you are, and whether there’s anything specific you’d like me to be mindful of. Then you settle in — in a supported side-lying position on the treatment table, with warm water cushions and pillows keeping you and your bump perfectly comfortable.
The massage flows gently from your back, shoulders and neck to your arms, legs, feet and belly. All movements are slow, soft and rhythmic — designed purely for relaxation, never stimulation. Your belly is massaged with the lightest, most tender touch. At the close of the session, I use gentle sacral pulsing and long, sweeping strokes from head to toe to ease you back into awareness. Afterwards I’ll offer you a glass of water and a little fruit to help your blood sugar settle.
Is this treatment right for you?
Pregnancy massage is suitable from the second trimester onwards and is wonderful for relieving back tension, swollen legs, restless sleep, and the emotional heaviness that pregnancy can sometimes bring. If you have any medical condition — such as pre-eclampsia, uncontrolled high blood pressure, thrombosis or epilepsy — I’ll ask you to get clearance from your midwife or gynaecologist before we meet. Your safety always comes first.
If you’re looking for other ways to nurture yourself during or after pregnancy, you might also love a gentle Relaxation Massage or a Manual Lymphatic Drainage session to ease swelling and support your body’s natural flow.

Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly is a pregnancy massage?
A pregnancy massage is a specially adapted massage treatment designed to support the physical and emotional needs of expectant mothers. Unlike a standard massage, it uses gentle, safe techniques and specific positioning — typically side-lying with supportive pillows — to ensure both mother and baby are comfortable and protected throughout the session. The focus is on relief, relaxation, and nurturing care.
How long is the session, and how much does it cost?
Our pregnancy massage is available in different session lengths to suit your needs and schedule. For current pricing and availability, please visit our pricing page or get in touch with us directly — we are always happy to help you find the right option. We recommend booking in advance, especially during busy holiday periods on the island.
Is it safe to get a pregnancy massage while on vacation in Bonaire?
Yes — with the right care and preparation, a pregnancy massage can be a wonderfully safe and beneficial experience during your holiday. We ask that all expectant guests have received clearance from their physician or midwife before their appointment. Your therapist at Massage Bonaire is trained in prenatal techniques and will ensure the entire session is adapted to your current stage of pregnancy and individual comfort.
From which stage of pregnancy can I receive this treatment?
We offer pregnancy massage from the second trimester onward, as this is when the risk of early-pregnancy complications has significantly reduced and the body’s changed posture and weight distribution typically begin to cause discomfort. If you are in your third trimester, you are absolutely welcome — many of our guests find this stage is when they need and appreciate the treatment most.
Can I book a pregnancy massage on the same day?
Same-day bookings are sometimes available depending on our schedule, but we strongly recommend booking in advance to secure your preferred time — especially if you are visiting Bonaire during peak season. You can book online or contact us directly, and we will do our very best to accommodate you as quickly as possible.
Is the heat in Bonaire an issue during pregnancy?
The warm Caribbean climate is something to be mindful of during pregnancy, as heat can sometimes intensify feelings of fatigue or swelling. Our treatment space at Massage Bonaire is comfortably air-conditioned, ensuring you remain cool and relaxed throughout your session. We also recommend staying well-hydrated before and after your massage, which is good advice for every day on the island.
What areas of the body does the massage focus on?
The session typically focuses on the areas that carry the most strain during pregnancy: the lower back, hips, shoulders, neck, and legs. Your therapist will always check in with you about where you are holding the most tension and will adjust the treatment accordingly. Certain areas and pressure points are intentionally avoided to ensure your complete safety.
Do I need to bring anything to my appointment?
You do not need to bring anything special — we provide everything you need for a comfortable, nurturing session. Simply wear or bring comfortable clothing to change out of, arrive a few minutes early so you have time to settle in, and come ready to receive some truly beautiful care. If you have any medical notes or your physician’s approval in writing, you are welcome to bring those along as well.
