About this treatment
A moment of complete rest — just for you
Life on a beautiful island like Bonaire doesn’t always mean you feel at ease. Stress, a busy schedule, tired muscles — I see it every day. That’s why I created this massage: a treatment that lets you truly pause, breathe, and come back to yourself.
With long, flowing strokes and a gentle, rhythmic touch, I guide your body and mind into deep relaxation. I work at your pace, tuning in to what your body needs in that moment — whether that’s extra attention on your shoulders, your lower back, or simply the comfort of a steady, caring hand.
You leave feeling lighter, softer, and more yourself. That’s the quiet power of a good relaxation massage — and I’m so glad I get to offer that to you here on Bonaire.
Why choose this
The advantages of a Relaxation Massage in Bonaire
Deep stress and tension relief
The long, flowing strokes of a relaxation massage directly calm your nervous system, lowering cortisol levels and easing both physical tension and mental stress. You'll feel the difference from the very first touch.
Release of muscle tension
Whether it's from sitting at a desk, diving, or carrying the weight of a busy life — my hands find the places where your body holds tension and encourage them to let go, gently and completely.
Better sleep quality
A relaxation massage resets your body's stress response and invites deep parasympathetic rest. Many of my clients sleep more deeply on the night after a session than they have in weeks.
Improved circulation and recovery
The gentle pressure and movement of the massage stimulates your blood and lymphatic circulation, helping your body clear waste products, deliver oxygen to tired tissues, and recover more effectively.

What happens during your Relaxation Massage?
You start by settling in on the massage table, wrapped in soft linens, while calming music and warm oil set the tone. I use classic Swedish massage techniques — long effleurage strokes, gentle kneading, and soothing rhythmic movements — to release tension in your muscles and calm your nervous system. The pressure is always adapted to what feels good for you: nurturing and never too intense.
The full-body treatment covers your back, legs, arms, hands, neck, and shoulders. I pay special attention to the areas where you carry the most tension. You don’t have to do anything — just breathe and let go.
Is this treatment right for you?
This massage is perfect for you if you’re feeling stressed, exhausted, or simply in need of some dedicated time for yourself. It’s also ideal if you’re new to massage and want a gentle, welcoming introduction. Whether you’re a visitor looking to unwind after a day of diving or a local who needs a reset — you’re in the right place.

Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly is a relaxation massage?
A relaxation massage is a full-body treatment that uses flowing strokes, gentle kneading, and rhythmic pressure to calm the nervous system and relieve muscle tension. Unlike deeper therapeutic styles, the focus is on inducing a state of profound ease rather than targeting specific injuries or chronic issues. It is the classic form of massage — the one most people imagine when they picture the perfect spa experience. At Massage Bonaire, every relaxation massage is customized to your body and your preferences on the day.
How long is a session, and how do I find out the price?
We offer relaxation massages in multiple session lengths to fit your schedule and what your body needs. Please visit our pricing page for current rates and available durations. Booking in advance is recommended, especially during peak travel season on the island, to ensure you get your preferred time.
Is this massage good after a day of diving in Bonaire?
Absolutely — in fact, a post-dive relaxation massage is one of our most popular combinations. A full day in the water, particularly with diving equipment, can leave the shoulders, neck, and lower back holding significant tension. The slow strokes and kneading used in this treatment help flush the muscles, ease that distinctive post-dive fatigue, and support a genuinely restful night of sleep. We do ask that you wait at least one hour after surfacing from a dive before receiving any massage treatment.
Is this treatment right for first-time massage guests?
It is genuinely one of the best choices for anyone receiving a massage for the first time. The touch is comforting rather than intense, the pace is unhurried, and there are no moments of sharp discomfort. Your therapist will check in with you and adjust pressure to whatever feels right. Many guests who were uncertain about getting a massage before their first session become enthusiastic regulars.
Can I book a relaxation massage on the same day?
Same-day bookings are possible depending on availability, and we always do our best to accommodate you. That said, Massage Bonaire is popular during the high season, and slots can fill up quickly. We recommend booking at least a day or two ahead to avoid disappointment — especially if you have a specific time in mind, such as a sunset evening appointment.
Who should avoid this treatment?
A relaxation massage is safe and beneficial for the vast majority of people. However, we ask guests to let us know if they have any active skin conditions, recent injuries, fever, blood clots, or are in the first trimester of pregnancy. Your therapist will have a brief conversation with you before the session to ensure the treatment is fully appropriate for your current health. When in doubt, please consult your physician before booking.
Will I feel results right away, or does it take multiple sessions?
Most guests feel a noticeable shift during the very first session — a softening of tension, a quieting of the mind, and a physical sense of ease that builds as the massage progresses. The effects on sleep quality and overall calm are often felt the same evening. While regular massage delivers cumulative long-term benefits, a single session during your stay on Bonaire is more than enough to feel genuinely transformed.
Do I need to do anything to prepare for my massage?
Very little preparation is needed. We recommend arriving a few minutes early so you can settle in without rushing. Avoid eating a large meal in the hour before your appointment, and stay hydrated throughout the day. Let your therapist know about any areas of concern, preferences for pressure, or anything relevant to your health. Everything else — the table, the atmosphere, the expertise — is taken care of.
